Our Courses
HeartWell’s signature program, developed by its founders, aims to utilize mindfulness as a tool for promoting equity and facilitating collective healing within communities. Two cohorts with HeartWell co-founder Zayda Vallejo and community organizer Coqui Negron begin in April 2025.

One-hour evening sessions feature meditation, mindful movement, and other holistic practices. Coqui Negron is the facilitator.
A health educator, mindfulness teacher, and changemaker Coqui is inspired by her belief in the power of people and communities to heal themselves.

Cultivating Peace
In-person community events focused on cultivating peace within ourselves and the community.
Offered in partnership with Makarioi, and the Center for Nonviolent Solutions.
Mindful Self-Compassion
Carolina Bautista Velez teaches this course for individuals aiming to nurture empathy toward themselves and others, particularly those experiencing emotional distress or empathy fatigue from extensive caregiving or high-stress environments.

Dr. Suzanne Westbrook leads Cognitively Based Mindful Self-Compassion.While mindfulness and self-compassion emphasize present-moment awareness and self-kindness, this training uniquely integrates traditional contemplative practices with contemporary psychological insights to enhance empathy and compassionate actions towards oneself and others.
